Piaget introduces a 42mm thin perpetual calendar to its catalogue, the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin. Powered by a 1255P Calibre, drawing from the 1200P Calibre, showcases slimness and proven reliability, proving no loss of practicality for the thinness of the watch. The 1255P Calibre introduces an additional Perpetual Calendar function and still only measures at 8.65mm thickness overall.
Piaget has prided themselves on their pursuit of ultra-thin components for their watches, Piaget created the in-house 12P movement launched in 1960 which was the thinnest in the world using the idea of a micro-rotor. Fast forward 50 years, and the 1200P caliber was introduced.
The Perpetual Calendar utilised in this Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin is probably one of the most useful functions (if of course, set, kept, winded properly). The Perpetual Calendar in short counts the day, date, and year accurately until the year 2100. This function counts moon phases, leap-year cycles and to fit all of this in a 8.65mm Ultra-thin movement is astonishing and provides another additional function of wearability.
The Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin (try saying this fast 5 times), showcases a dark emerald-green dial with a gadroon pattern, as I mentioned previously in our Rolex Article ‘Looking back at 2022 – Rolex’, Green is the new blue. This Perpetual Calendar has three subdials on the watch: the date, month (leap-year indication also) and weekday found symmetrically at 9, 12, and 3 o’clock. The watch also shows a moonphase indication at 6 o’clock. Piaget subdials incorporate several different finishes, for a nice sunburst greeny shiny goodness. Super-Luminova is applied to the indexes for readability. The Gadroon pattern is synonymous with Piaget, first introduced on the Piaget Polo in 1979, the gadroons now appear on the bracelet and are a quick tell between the new-gen Piaget Polo compared to its predecessors.

This watch introduces a SingleTouch system for the bracelet, this will prevent watch amateurs or even experts from scratching the lugs when changing straps (Guilty). Some days you may feel like a classy metal bracelet or a sporty rubber strap, which this watch comes with both.
